Default Creating a costbook from an Estimate

If you have an Estimate that you have customized and want to turn it into a custom costbook, you can do this from within the Items database.

You can use our QuickBooks contact sync to import Vendors, employees and Customers. UDA can also import QuickBooks items into a costbook. We don't currently have an import for accounts, or jobs.

I have an extensive set of estimate templates I've created and saved under memorized transactions in QB, templates for each type of job I handle. I know you cannot import them to UDA, but could I make a new cost book assembly and add them to my estimate in some way??? I have spent years creating these in QB and do not want to recreate them again in UDA.

Hi Frank,

You can import the items into a costbook, then use them as you build your estimating templates in UDA.

1. Open a new blank UDA Template.

2. Manually add categories and subcategories.

3. Open the items database and go to the tools menu. Select import items from Quickbooks.

4. Use the newly created costbook to add your items to your estimate.

5. Save the estimate as a template.
