I want to develop a network of home remodelers using UDA.
We, New View Construction, have been using UDA for 4+ years and are starting to tap into the power of UDA. We are refining our use of estimates, proposals, contracts & QuickBooks integration. We have recently played with job schedules and workflows. I am interested in what UDA features other remodelers are using and the order they implemented each feature. Thanks! Joe,
I have a small remodeling company and I just purchased UDA a couple of weeks ago. I am really impressed with the database feature and the estimating. I have had quickbooks for 3 years now, so integrating the two programs was another great feature. My only great disappointment in the program is the front end of the program. I am talking about the proposal, which is what my customer sees. The flexiblility of the proposal is aweful for me because their is no control over the presentation of the inputed estimate data. Being in remodeling, most of my customers like each phase (usually broken down further into rooms) to be written out and then I like to have a subtotal for that phase (category). The project total report inside of the proposal sort of addresses this issue, but there is so much cutting and pasting to make it easy to read for the customer, that it is almost useless. It seems that something that could be so easy to make (a detailed proposal) is so difficult, complicated and confusing. Have you found a way to make a presentable proposal for your customers using the very limited options that UDA gives you? I really, really want to love this program (especially, for as much money as I paid for it), but the proposal area is driving me crazy! Thanks, Tim Pedry Remodeling & Construction |
